Known by many locals as “the best-kept secret” in town, Black Friar Inn And Pub has a following among locals and travelers alike. Nestled back on Summer Street (off of Cottage Street), Black Friar Inn And Pub maintains a downtown location with an “out-of-the-way” feel. It is known for its fine architectural woodwork salvaged from old area mansions (dubbed cottages by the wealthy summer residents of the 1800s) creating an old European charm to the inn. You don’t have to stay at the inn to enjoy the pub with its delicious food which is more in step with fine dining than standard pub fare. You can even relax on the roof deck to watch the stars come out or the sun come up, depending what hours you keep.
